We plan to bring together experts studying structural biology using diverse techniques. With the recent advances in in situ tomography, deep-leanring based structure prediction and structural proteomics, establishing collaborations across disciplines are now more essential than ever. Such interdisciplinary collaborations will enable solving more challenging goals of structural biology across the in vitro, cellular and organismal scales.
We will organize a one day mini-symposium that includes several research talks by investigators from both academia and industry, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students spanning both computational and experimental tools in structural biology. We will organize a career-oriented panel discussion that focuses on the future of structural biology and potential new job opportunities in the biotech space related to this field. Given the advent of new methods and tools that are rapidly revolutionizing this field, we believe this panel will be informative for attendees for both academia and industry-based research and job opportunities. As a part of the symposium, we will organize a lunch and an evening social at the conclusion of the event.
The date of this event is to be determined.
The event will be held at LKS 245, Li Ka Shing Center, University of California Berkeley
The event is organized by BPS member Dr. Priyanka Joshi, University of California, Berkeley, and Akanksha Thawani, University of California, Berkeley.
