The Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research

The Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research is a coalition of more than 200 patient and voluntary health groups, medical and scientific societies, academic and research organizations, and industry. The Ad Hoc Group has one mission: to enhance the federal investment in biomedical, behavioral, social, and population-based research by increasing the funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 



The Coalition for National Science Funding  

An alliance of over 130 universities, scientific societies, and other organizations concerned by the future vitality of America’s research enterprise. Supports the goal of increasing the national investment in the National Science Foundation's (NSF) research and education programs in response to the unprecedented scientific, technological and economic opportunities facing the United States. 



The Energy Sciences Coalition  

The Energy Sciences Coalition (ESC) is a broad-based coalition of organizations representing scientists, engineers and mathematicians in universities, industry and national laboratories who are committed to supporting and advancing the scientific research programs of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and in particular, the DOE Office of Science. 


 

Federation of American Scientists (FASEB) Affiliate Partnership

The Federation of American Scientists (FASEB) launched a new affiliate membership program in 2025; while still in its early stages, BPS chose to join the affiliate program to partner with other scientific societies that are represented by FASEB. As part of the partnership, BPS members have access to a number of resources including, but not limited to a twice monthly townhalls, Congressional Visit Day, in-district events with Congress, Federal Spending Factsheets for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science. These factsheets break down spending on the state level and by district.

Engaging Scientists & Engineers in Policy (ESEP)  

The Engaging Scientists & Engineers in Policy (ESEP) Coalition is an ad hoc alliance of organizations that have joined together to empower scientists and engineers to effectively engage in the policy making process at all levels of government (international, federal, state and local). ​ESEP serves as a resource one-stop-shop, a communication forum, networking opportunity and as an engagement vehicle for those interested or already engaged in science and technology policy including students, faculty members, industry scientists and engineers, policy fellows, and young scholars and others. 



ResearchAmer!ca  

ResearchAmer!ca is the nation's largest not-for-profit public education and advocacy alliance committed to making research to improve health a higher national priority. Their primary functions include: advocacy, outreach, public opinion polling, and public education events. Well known for their public polling work.  



STEM Education Coalition 

The STEM Education Coalition works aggressively to raise awareness in Congress, the Administration, and other organizations about the critical role that STEM education plays in enabling the U.S. to remain the economic and technological leader of the global marketplace of the 21st century. Members of the STEM Coalition believe that our nation must improve the way our students learn science, mathematics, technology and engineering and that the business, education, and STEM communities must work together to achieve this goal.
