BPS Networking Mini-Grant Events a Success
This past fall, the Society provided support for the first two local networking events selected by the Membership Committee to receive Society minigrants for the events. Society member Jennifer Klein hosted one event at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, in October, and Society member Christopher Yengo hosted the second event at the Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in November. Both events had over 50 attendees and fostered new discussions and collaborations among scientists within those regions.
In 2012, the Society will sponsor six networking events, both within and outside of the United States. Keep an eye out for these exciting events, which will take place in Lexington, Kentucky; Memphis, Tennessee; Concepcion, Chile; Charlottesville, Virginia; Vilnius, Lithuania; and New York, New York.
