Molecular and cellular biophysics represents a rich yet vastly underutilized niche for scientific innovation across Africa. This upcoming networking event bridges this gap by bringing scholars and researchers together to unlock the potential of these crucial biophysical branches. Together, participants will explore concrete pathways to integrate these disciplines into industrial research, healthcare, academia, and biotechnology. Ultimately, advancing this sector is pivotal for driving continent-wide breakthroughs in healthcare, food security, and biotechnology.
Call for Abstracts and Posters
BPS Sponsored Networking Event 2026
We invite researchers and students to submit their abstracts for the upcoming BPS Sponsored Networking Event taking place at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) on Friday, 6th November 2026. Participation and abstract submissions are entirely free of charge.
Submissions must align with the event’s core themes, including structural biology, cellular mechanics, optical imaging, and high-throughput diagnostics. Abstracts should be structured into a single paragraph of up to 250 words within a Microsoft Word document (.docx), detailing the study's background, methods, results, and conclusions. Please include a concise title, full author names, institutional affiliations, and up to 5 keywords.
The deadline for submission is Friday, 16th October 2026, with notifications of acceptance sent by Friday, 23rd October 2026.
Accepted works will be presented during the 2:00 - 4:00 pm EAT session. Oral presentations are strictly limited to 15 minutes total (12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for Q&A).
Poster presentations must be printed in standard A0 size (Portrait orientation) and brought directly to MCU 002 (Boardroom) for mounting. Please email your completed abstracts directly to [email protected] with the subject line “BPS 2026 Abstract Submission - [Your Name]”.
