It is with pleasure that we invite you to participate in the Biophysical Society Conference, Protons in Biology: Basic Science to Biomedicine taking place August 1-4, 2027, at Keble College, University of Oxford, in Oxford, United Kingdom.
Proton reactions underpin many of life's most fundamental biological processes, including energy conversion, membrane transport, cellular signalling, and pH homeostasis. This BPS conference will bring together an international community of researchers working at the interface of chemistry, biophysics, structural biology, physiology, computational science, and medicine to explore the latest advances in proton transfer, measurement, modelling, and their roles in health and disease.
The program will highlight advances in proton biology across multiple scales—from atomistic mechanisms and molecular machines to cellular physiology, metabolism, neuroscience, cancer biology, and bioengineering. Through interdisciplinary discussions spanning molecular mechanisms to organismal physiology, the meeting aims to foster new collaborations, bridge traditionally separate fields, and accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries into biomedical applications.

Please note that the deadline to submit an abstract is April 5, 2027, and the early registration deadline is April 26, 2027. Abstract submission is free and short talks will be selected from among submitted abstracts.
