Volunteer at a Local Science Fair!

BPS looks forward to sponsoring the Biophysics Award at regional and state science fairs for a third consecutive year. The initiative, sponsored by the Public Affairs Committee, promotes the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering, and math in US schools, and raises awareness about biophysics at the high school level.

Last year, the Society provided funds for 32 awards in ten states. In 2012, BPS will sponsor  awards at state and regional fairs in the Boston, San
Francisco, Baltimore, Washington, DC, and San Diego areas. These areas reflect where Annual Meetings have been held over the past three years.

All science fairs need scientists to act as judges. If you are a BPS member living in the Boston, San Francisco, Baltimore, Washington DC, or San Diego areas and are interested in judging at a science fair, please visit http://bit.ly/tphywC for detailed fair information. Don’t live in these regions, but still planning to judge at your local science fair and would like to give a Biophysics Award? Visit http://bit.ly/tphywC for instructions on how to have BPS sponsor an award at your fair. For questions or more information email scifairs@biophysics.org.
