The Annual Meeting is held each year in February or March. With over 6,000 attendees, the meeting is the largest gathering of biophysicists around the world. More than 3,000 abstracts are submitted each year, which are programmed into poster and platform sessions. The meeting includes Symposia, Workshops, Minisymposia, Subgroup programs, and the National Lecture, as well as Educational Exhibits, Exhibitor Presentations, and Committee Events.

The 53rd Annual Meeting will be held February 28 - March 4, 2009, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

Call for Papers

The Call for Papers meeting announcement is published annually in July and mailed to all Society members. The current Call for Papers may be viewed here.

Abstracts Issue

All regular scientific abstracts that are submitted, accepted, and programmed into the Annual Meeting appear in a supplemental issue of the Biophysical Journal. Late abstracts are not published in the Biophysical Journal abstracts issue. Supplemental abstract issues of the Biophysical Journal may be viewed here.

Annual Meeting Program & Addendum

Both the Program and the Addendum are distributed at the Annual Meeting.  The Program contains all schedules and program information, and the Addendum contains the latest program updates and corrections, as well as the Late Abstracts.

National Lecturer

The National Lecturer is the Biophysical Society's highest honor. It is awarded each year to an outstanding biophysicist who presents the National Lecture at the Annual Meeting. To view past National Lecture presentations, click here.
