Women in Science Portland x Biophysical Society Professional Development Mixer: Craft Your Professional Elevator Pitch

This Networking Event will be held on November 9, 2023 from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm US Pacific time at Lucky Laborador Beer Hall, 1945 NW Quimby St, Portland, OR, 97209. The event is being hosted by BPS Member Dr. Rose Marie Haynes, Pacific Northwest Center for Cryo EM and Women in Science Portland.

This event will include a short talk by Dr. Jackie Wirz on identifying transferable skills from one's educational and professional experiences as well as a brief workshop section on developing a short "elevator pitch" based on those identified skills. Attendees will pair up and practice delivering their elevator pitches to one another. After that, select students from the Oregon State Biophysical Society Student Chapter will be invited to present their elevator pitches to the entire group. Following that, attendees will be free to network with one another until the end of the event.
