MEETINGS COORDINATOR

The Biophysical Society, a 9,000 member professional association of research scientists, seeks a self-motivated, detail-oriented Meetings Coordinator. Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Meetings & Exhibits in coordinating and implementing all aspects of the Annual Meeting (6,600 attendees last year), Thematic meetings, and smaller meetings throughout the year. Duties will include logistical planning, reviewing contracts, onsite management, and maintenance and analysis of meeting data. Candidates must have at least 2-5 years experience in meeting/event planning. Experience with scientific meetings a plus. Bachelor’s degree required. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential, as well as the ability to multitask and troubleshoot problems. Strong organizational and time management skills necessary. The ability to build relationships with internal associates and Biophysical Society members, as well as external meetings industry professionals is a must. Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and have experience working with databases. Ability to travel to Annual Meeting also required. Excellent benefits. PROGRAMS & OUTREACH COORDINATOR

The Biophysical Society is seeking a Programs & Outreach Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for managing the Summer Course grant program, working with Society committees composed of volunteers, writing and submitting associated grant applications, coordinating committee-related outreach programs, and working with social media team. Coordinating the Summer Course includes marketing the course; handling the recruitment and application process; submitting required grant reports; communicating continuously with organizers and students; and overseeing the program’s finances. Committee work includes coordinating their initiatives, programs, and grant applications; preparing agendas; scheduling conference calls and meetings; taking minutes; and writing about initiatives for Society publications. Other duties as assigned. Must have excellent writing skills and initiative; be a team player; comfortable communicating with a wide range of people via phone, e-mail, social media, and in person; have strong organizational skills; able to multitask; and superb attention to details and deadlines. 2+ years’ experience in non-profit association preferred. .NET SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Growing scientific society is seeking a .NET Software Engineer responsible for coordination and development of all society databases. Responsibilities include extraction of data and linkage with Web and other databases; development of new Web applications; evaluation and implementation of new technologies. Must be proficient in C#, DotNetNuke/DNN, SQL, IIS, SQL Server, HTML, XML, CSS, and experience with ASP.NET. BS in Computer Science or related field and 2-3 years prior experience required.
