Airports
Trieste Airport is the closest to the meeting location.
Venice Marco Polo International Airport (VAC) is the best airport for international travelers. From the airport, you will need to take a shuttle to reach the Venezia Mestre train station. There are direct trains from Venezia Mestre to the Stazione Centrale Trieste (Trieste Central Station). The trip by train is approximately 150 minutes.
Rail
If you are traveling to Trieste by train, your final destination will be the Stazione Central Trieste (Trieste Central Station). From this station, there are taxi and bus options for you to reach SISSA or your hotel.

Bus Service
A complimentary daily shuttle will be available to transport guests to and from SISSA from October 22-25. The bus will pick up and drop off in Piazza Oberdan. Specific timing for this shuttle will be provided closer to the meeting date.
If you are unable to make the complimentary shuttle, city bus Line 38 departs from Piazza Oberdan in 20-minute intervals (8:00 am, 8:20 am, 8:40 am, 9:00 am). Please be advised that since this line is most used by SISSA students, it could be crowded.
Also available is city bus Line 2, which departs from Via Galatti in 10-minute intervals (8:00 am, 8:10 am, 8:20 am, 8:30 am) and drops off at Strada Nuova per Opicina 37. There is a 10-minute walk to reach SISSA from this bus stop.
