Thematic Meeting FAQs

The meeting will be held at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) located at Via Bonomea, 265 - 34136 Trieste, Italy.

We are anticipating approximately 120 attendees.

To assist attendees in obtaining a visa, the Biophysical Society will issue a letter of invitation.  To obtain a letter of invitation, you must first register for the meeting and pay any registration fees in full.  Submit your request for a letter of invitation to [email protected].

An online program will be available one month prior to the meeting for registered attendees to upload or print.

Registration includes admission to all scientific sessions and poster area, welcome reception, daily coffee breaks and lunches, and one group dinner. 

Meeting registrations are non-transferable. Requests for registration cancellations and refunds must be submitted in writing to the BPS Office and postmarked by July 19, 2024. No refund requests will be granted after that date. A $50 fee will be deducted from all registrations cancellation refunds. 

If you or your institution requires a receipt for registration, please send your request via email to [email protected]. Be prepared to provide your name or Membership ID number and any information your institution requires (i.e. method of Payment, verification name or signature).

You can receive a Certificate of Attendance at on-site registration.

Unfortunately, meeting registrations are non-transferable.

Yes, you must have a myBPS account to submit an abstract. If you have not already created a myBPS account and password, you will need to do so before submitting your abstract.

The abstract submission deadline is June 3, 2024, 11:59 PM (Eastern USA).  

The Biophysical Society Office will email abstract scheduling notices only to Presenting Authors no later than June 10, 2024. The Presenting Author holds the responsibility of notifying all authors on the abstract of the scheduling. 

No, you do not need to be a member of the Society to submit an abstract. 

Revisions for abstract submissions must be received by Monday, June 3, 2024, 11:59 PM (Eastern USA).

The deadline for abstract submission withdrawal is June 3, 2024, 11:59 PM (Eastern USA). Requests for abstract withdrawal must be received in writing by the Biophysical Society via email at [email protected] from the Presenting Author’s email address. The Presenting Author's full name and abstract number must be included in the withdrawal request.

You must bring your own laptop, power supplies, and adaptors.  We also suggest you bring a back-up of your presentation on a USB drive, in case of any unforeseen technical issues.
