Weather

The average daily temperature in September can vary from the the 10-12°C (50-55°F) to the 23-28°C (75-80°F) with a mixture of sunshine and rain. Check the current local forecast here. It is advisable to dress in layers.

 

Currency

The official currency in Germany is the Euro. Click here for currency conversion. Major credit cards (such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express) are widely accepted in Thessaloniki, and contactless payments (such as Apple Pay and Google Pay) are becoming more popular.  However, carrying some cash, especially smaller bills, is recommended for street vendors, informal markets, tips, and traveling in rural areas.  If needed, ATMs are the easiest way to withdraw cash from your home account.  Be sure to inform your bank before traveling abroad and be aware that there may be fees charged for cash withdrawals.  It is advisable to exchange some cash before traveling to Tutzing. 

 

Electricity

In Germany the power outlets are type F, or "Schuko" outlets. The standard voltage is 230 Volts and the standard frequency is 50 Hertz. If you travel with a device that does not accept 230 Volts and 50 Hertz, you will need to bring a voltage converter with you. You may also need a plug adapter if your appliance's plug has a different shape.

Andechs Monestary
The monastery, the oldest place of pilgrimage in Bavaria, was founded in 1455 and has been run by the Benedictines ever since. The holy mountain is just 15km away from Tutzing and one of the most popular destinations. Whether by foot, bicycle, bus or car, you simply have to be there.

Lake Starnberg
Lying in a glacial hollow, created by ice age glaciers from the Alps, Lake Starnberg is the fifth largest lake in Germany. The lake offers stunning panoramic views of the neighboring Alps and is the perfect place to hike, bike, fish, swim, or just enjoy the scenery.
