Thematic Meeting FAQs

The meeting will be held at the Fondazione Monte Verità located at Strada Collina 84, CH-6612 Ascona, Switzerland.

We are anticipating approximately 100 attendees.

To assist attendees in obtaining a visa, the Biophysical Society will issue a letter of invitation.  To obtain a letter of invitation, you must first register for the meeting and pay any registration fees in full.  Submit your request for a letter of invitation to [email protected].

An online program will be available one month prior to the meeting for registered attendees to upload or print.

Registration includes admission to all scientific sessions and poster area, welcome reception, breakfasts, daily coffee breaks, lunches, and dinners. 

Meeting registrations are non-transferable. Requests for registration cancellations and refunds must be submitted in writing to the BPS Office and postmarked by March 23, 2026. No refund requests will be granted after that date. A $50 fee will be deducted from all registrations cancellation refunds. 

If you or your institution requires a receipt for registration, please send your request via email to [email protected]. Be prepared to provide your name or Membership ID number and any information your institution requires (i.e. method of Payment, verification name or signature).

You can receive a Certificate of Attendance at on-site registration.

Unfortunately, meeting registrations are non-transferable.

Yes, you must have a myBPS account to submit an abstract. If you have not already created a myBPS account and password, you will need to do so before submitting your abstract.

The early abstract submission deadline is March 2, 2026, 11:59 PM (Eastern USA).  

The Biophysical Society Office will email scheduling notices for early abstract submissions (to Presenting Authors only) no later than March 16, 2026. The Presenting Author holds the responsibility of notifying all authors on the abstract of the scheduling. 

No, you do not need to be a member of the Society to submit an abstract. 

The revisions for early abstract submissions must be received by March 2, 2026, 11:59 PM (Eastern USA).

The deadline to withdraw an early abstract submission is March 2, 2026. Requests for abstract withdrawal must be received in writing by the Biophysical Society via email at [email protected] from the Presenting Author’s email address. The Presenting Author's full name and abstract number must be included in the withdrawal request.

You must bring your own laptop, power supplies, and adaptors.  We also suggest you bring a back-up of your presentation on a USB drive, in case of any unforeseen technical issues.

No. Attendees must make their reservations through the Biophysical Society at the time of registration.
