Center for Biology with X-Ray Free Electron Lasers (BioXFEL) - Understanding Molecular Machines

00:05:14

BioXFEL is a consortium of eight research institutions working together to image protein molecules using a recently invented pulsed hard X-ray laser located at Stanford University. This powerful laser with short pulses allows researchers to capture biological molecules in atomic detail, view their functional motions by taking brief snapshots, and observe interactions in their native environment. BioXFEL is a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center.
