James Corones Award in Leadership, Community Building and Communication

This award was established to recognize the impact of mid-career scientists and engineers on their chosen fields across a range of areas. The recipient will be someone who encourages and mentors young people to be active in the science community, to communicate their work effectively, and to make a difference in their scientific area.

Who can apply: Mid-career is defined as those having earned a PhD within the past 10 - 20 years. Self-nominations are accepted.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute 2021 Investigator Competition

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) seeks creative and innovative scientists to join its Investigator Program. Through this competition, HHMI will expand its community of basic researchers and physician scientists across the nation who catalyze discovery research in basic and biomedical sciences, plant biology, evolutionary biology, biophysics, chemical biology, biomedical engineering, and computational biology. 

Who can apply: Applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD, and must plan to perform research at one of over 200 eligible US institutions.
