Meeting attendees may take advantage of the special non-refundable, non-transferable combo rates offered when completing a regular abstract submission and registering for the meeting at the same time. This offer is only available at the time of regular abstract submission and only available for the presenting author.

If you paid the Combo Fee upon Abstract Submission, you do not need to register. Not sure if you registered? Contact BPS.

After you have completed your registration to attend the meeting, don’t forget to:

Complete your abstract submission. Remember, if you have only paid $75 early or $175 late abstract submission fee, you are NOT registered for the meeting. This fee is only to complete the abstract submission.

All regular abstracts submitted by October 1, 2020, and accepted by the Program Committee will be published as a supplement to the Biophysical Journal.
An online program will be available one month prior to the Annual Meeting for registered attendees to download or print.

The Biophysical Society welcomes the use of social media to share information from the 65th Biophysical Society Virtual Annual Meeting and to engage with the biophysics community. Please use the Annual Meeting hashtag #bps2021 when posting to help others follow along.

We encourage you to share highlights from the meeting, suggest sessions to attend, discuss stand-out presentations and posters, and connect with your fellow biophysicists, as well as our sponsors and exhibitors.

When sharing information about what you see and hear in meeting sessions, please refrain from capturing or sharing full detail of the material presented in order to respect the intellectual property of the presenters. Some presenters may request, verbally or in writing, that attendees not digitally capture or share information about their presentations and content; please honor those requests so that we can maintain a professional, respectful environment.

Presenters: If you do not wish to have your research shared via social media, please make an announcement before and during your presentation. BPS strongly encourages compliance with speaker requests regarding social media sharing but cannot guarantee it.

Requests for registration cancellations and refunds must be submitted in writing to the Society Office and postmarked by February 5, 2021.  No refund requests will be granted after that date. A $25 fee will be deducted from all registration cancellation refunds. Please note that Combo Registrations (abstract submission and registration) are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Press Registration

The Biophysical Society welcomes and encourages science journalists to attend the Annual Meeting and report on the research being presented. Please review the Annual Meeting Program to pinpoint presentations that may be of particular interest to your publication.

Press Credentials

To register as a member of the press, please contact the Biophysical Society’s Director of Advocacy and Public Affairs, Leann Fox at [email protected] or 240-290-5606. The Society waives registration fees for reporters that can document their status as a member of the press corps. This can be done with a recognized press card, proof of membership in a national or international science writers association, or the submission of previously written articles covering an annual meeting. The Society will not waive registration for editors of peer-reviewed journals, ad sales representatives, publishers, program officers, or marketing professionals. Scientists, advertising or marketing professionals, and editors must register through general registration and pay the registration fee.

Institutional Press Officers/Public Information Officers

The Biophysical Society encourages institutional press officers and public information officers to prepare press releases on research members of their community who are presenting at the Annual Meeting. The Society will distribute these press releases electronically. Please contact Leann Fox at [email protected] for more information.

Press Release

Press release highlighting research being presented at the meeting will be made available via Eurekalert, Society's website, and social media during the meeting. Follow #BPS21.
