will first receive an email from the Biophysical Journal staff asking
you to review a paper.

The e-mail
will contain the abstract of the paper to be reviewed, along with links to
either accept or decline the request to review.

After
accepting, the paper will move to your “Active Reviews” queue.

Click
on “Active Review” to view PDF and References.
-
When
you are ready to submit review: Click [Edit/Submit Review] to bring up the
Review Form.

There
are links to view the PDF, Abstract, References. You also have access to
related articles.
-
Check
the rating that best describes the manuscript from None to 7.
-
Indicate if color figures are warranted, if applicable.

Indicate if Supplemental Files are warranted, if applicable. Include which
ones and include any comments.

Enter Comments for the Editor (which are kept confidential)

Enter
Comments for the Author. Please do not indicate if paper is acceptable or
not acceptable for publication in Author Area.

Click
[Save my work in progress] ONLY if the review is a work in progress. Also,
from here you have the ability to proof the review before the review is
submitted to the journal.

Click
[Submit my review] if the review is completed and ready to submit. Must
enter comments to the Editor and Author, select ratings and indicate
if supplemental material is warranted before review. All areas must be
complete in order for the review be considered complete.

The paper will now show up in your Review History queue.

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU ARE
SUBMITTING YOUR REVIEW AS A PDF, MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS NOT LISTED IN THE
PROPERTIES OF THE PDF TO ASSURE ANONYMITY.
