The BPS monitors and responds to public policy issues related to research, biomedical careers,  science education, and appropriations in the United States.  The Society also tracks science policy issues internationally that are of importance to the biophysical research community. On broad issues of great importance, Council has approved position statements to make the Society’s position known to a wide audience and to make it easy for members to share those positions.
