Each
year, several satellite meetings are held in conjunction with the Society's
Annual Meeting on the Friday before the meeting begins.
Criteria
for holding a Satellite Meeting
2008 Satellite Meetings Proposal Deadline: Friday, October 26, 2007
The following criteria must be met before a meeting may be advertised as a
satellite meeting of the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting:

Proposals must be submitted to the Program Chair for approval. Organizers
must be a member of the Society and proposals must be co-signed by nine
current other Society members.

Proposals must include the meeting title and list of speakers and their
affiliations. Organizers are responsible for payment of all costs associate
with running the meeting. These costs include, but are not limited to: food
and beverage, audio/visual, and sound expenses.

Meeting organizers must pay a $1500 fee to the Society, unless the
organizer’s company is exhibiting at the Annual Meeting. The Society office
will handle registration, which will be $35 per registrant, and will staff
the onsite badge and registration process.
