The Biophysical Society Annual Meeting is held each year in February or March.  With over 6,000 attendees, the meeting is the largest gathering of biophysicists around the world.  More than 3,000 abstracts are submitted each year, which are programmed into poster and platform sessions.  Abstract submission is a member privilege.  The meeting includes symposia, workshops, subgroup programs, and the National Lecture. On the Saturday before the start of the Annual Meeting, subgroups hold scientific programs. These programs provide meeting attendees the opportunity to discuss more intimately subtopics in biophysics.  The Annual Meeting also includes educational exhibits, exhibitor presentations, and committee events.

The Society also holds smaller Discussions meetings every two years. Discussions are designed to foster discussion by bringing together participants from disparate scientific communities to address emerging topics.  Video recordings of the Discussions and of the Annual Meeting National Lecture are available online.

Through the International Affairs Committee, the Society provides support to meetings in countries experiencing financial difficulties as well as to the IUPAB International Congress.
