educational opportunities in biophysics

Graduate Programs in Biophysics
Numerous colleges and universities throughout the USA and the world support graduate study in biophysics. Some offer specific graduate degrees in biophysics; others offer a specialization in biophysics as part of a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or other field. Our interactive database allows you to search for graduate study opportunities in biophysics by geographical location, by degree offered, and by specific area of research expertise.

Support For Graduate Education
Most graduate students who study biophysics are supported by funds from their graduate programs or by research grants held by their mentors. The institution at the time of acceptance into a specific graduate program usually offers such support. There are independent fellowships available, however, to support graduate study by specific individuals at the graduate program of their choice. Consider applying for one of these fellowships the year before you apply to graduate school.

Specialized Courses In Biophysics and Related Areas
Various institutions offer “continuing professional education” courses with biophysical content.  These courses are typically designed for advanced students or working professionals; many are offered during the summer; none listed here provide credit toward an advanced degree.
