As part of its ongoing effort to bring biophysicists together and create local communities, the BPS recently hosted two networking events.
The Bluegrass Molecular Biophysics Symposium, hosted by BPS member Trevor Creamer, took place on May 20 at the University of Kentucky. One hundred students, postdocs, and faculty members from 11 institutions attended the event. Attendees had the opportunity to submit and present posters on their research. The event featured four guest speakers and four student speakers selected from those who submitted posters.
The first symposium of the Membrane Protein Club, held June 10 at the Institut Pasteur, was hosted by BPS member Martin Picard. This event brought together 76 biochemists and biophysicists from the greater Paris area to discussrecent advances in the field of structural and functional analysis of membrane proteins. Guest speakers presented the new issues in their area of expertise.
